Amare in Cape Town

"I’ve been eagerly waiting for the opportunity to visit Amare, the new and stylish gem in Bantry Bay, Cape Town. From its elegant, chic design, this spot perfectly balances laid-back lunches after a beach day with the option to dress up for a sophisticated dinner. The decor is top-tier—instagrammable, sleek, and with just the right touch of allure. The service was exceptional—welcoming, attentive, and effortlessly relaxed. We truly made friends during our visit, and I can’t wait to return and see Wandile and Audrey again. Thank you both for making the experience personal and memorable; I’ll definitely be back for coffee and a catch-up soon. Now, let’s talk about the food… the food! The flavors of the Mediterranean are beautifully showcased here. It’s been a long time since I left a restaurant feeling light and satisfied, not bloated or uncomfortable. At Amare, the cuisine is fresh and clean—from the fish to the filet, the Camembert to the peppers, not to mention the olive oil and grapes and wide selection of wines. We fell in love with a Portuguese wine. That’s a first for me. The menu is diverse, and the quality is simply divine. Amare, true love it was and will be. Thank you for the delicious experience. "I booked with a link on their instagram, it was easy to book. The place is aesthetically pleasing and the staff are friendly and helpful. You are not allowed to take pictures at the entrance which I assume is to protect the privacy of others. There was live jazz music the day I dined there, it’s very refreshing. The noise level was moderate, the food wait time was okay. I had the rigatoni with chicken, it was delicious and the price and portion is fair , my partner had lamb chops which was quite expensive for the portion and the taste was just okay. I had carrot cake for dessert and it wasn’t that good . But the atmosphere and service all come together to make it a pleasant experience"

"If you are not into influencers in the wild, this is for you! My friend and I accidently went here because we wanted to restaurant hop and I had never been. On this day I was craving pasta and let me tell you, I was fed! Truly enjoy the pasta and the waiters are really welcoming (special shoutout to Andre and the waiter who made me a flu concoction). It was empty so we walked around to see what the entire restaurant looked like even the upstairs area. Their wine selection is a bit pricey (I like wine a lot), and I like that you cannot take pictures when it is busy so that people feel comfortable to enjoy their time without being photographed. Really enjoyed it here a lot but it is a little pricey."

"I'm not one to be easily influenced, so when I kept seeing this place on my feed, I decided to give it a try. I must say that it was the best decision ever I did a dinner date with my friend and when I arrived the staff welcomed me and ushered me to the waiting area which was so beautiful. I love this concept compared to being sat at the bar or standing at the entrance for a table. They have an extensive breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. They also offer hot, cold, alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages. We had Brut Rosé which was recommended by our waiter, and he was spot on that we would really enjoy it. We did restaurant week. We had the kingclip as starters, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved how it was cooked and garnished. For the mains, we had the beef fillet, and it was cooked to perfection, and the sides that came with it complimented it very well. For dessert, I had the lemon posset and my friend and the poached pear. Both were very refreshing, and light. I had an amazing experience, from the friendly staff, incredible food and overall beautiful atmosphere. I will be coming back soon, especially for the fireplace."
